On 5th October 2021, we arranged a lab trip to the amazing AQUATIS in Lausanne to immerse ourselves in a journey on the five continents to discover the main freshwater ecosystems. Europe, Africa, Asia, Oceania and America... it was indeed an exceptional journey!

The RIA Immunology lunch meeting is a weekly lecture organized by Immunology. The presentations are held by research-members and invited guests from different research areas presenting their latest findings. The topics of the lectures are focused on research in basic and applied immunology. The lectures are open to the public and everybody is welcome to join. The Bern Immunology Club is a platform to facilitate and promote basic and clinical research in immunology. Our network provides teaching for students from the under-graduate to the post-graduate level. The members share know-how and resources within this national center of competence.

We organize Meetings on a monthly basis, where renowned speakers from different immunological research areas present their latetest findings. These lectures are open to the public and everybody is welcome to join. Please have a look at the anual program.

Prof. Dr. Martin Bachmann is a visiting professor at Anhui Agricultural University in Hefei, the capital city of Anhui in China. As an essential role of our collaboration with Anhui Agriculture University in different animal vaccines, Prof. Martin, Prof. Lisha Zha and the directors of Anhui University have organized an immunology summer-school in October 2019 in China. The summer-school included a number of important local and international speakers: From our lab; Prof. Martin Bachmann, Dr. Monique Vogel, Dr. Mona Mohsen and Xinyue Chang (PhD student), Prof. Thomas Kundig (University of Zurich), Prof. Daniel Speiser (University of Lausanne), Dr. Gary Gennings (HypoPet AG), Dr. Aadil El-Turabi (University of Oxford), Dr. Ariane Gomes and Dr. Joshua Blight (Imperial College London). The speakers discussed a wide rage of topics in immunology which opens the door for promising projects in collaboration with China. The Chinese have shown us extraordinary warmth and generosity. The summer-school was ended with a magical tour in the yeloow mountains.
